The Austin Flute Choir was established in 1991 as part of the Austin Flute Society. Its instrumentation includes piccolos, C-flutes, alto flutes, bass flutes, and a contrabass flute.


The choir performs repertoire ranging from classical, popular, jazz, and even folk music.

The AFC performs between four and six concerts each year around the Austin metro area. 

Dallas Bound 2020!


The Austin Flute Choir will be holding auditions to recruit members for our 2020 National Flute Association Convention performance in Dallas, TX. 


Audition Information:

When:  Sunday, March 22nd 4:30-6:00pm 

Where: St. John’s United Methodist Church

Perform two contrasting pieces displaying technical and lyrical playing. Please bring three copies of the music for a panel. 

The AFC will perform on Saturday, April 8th at the NFA Convention at the Hyatt Regency of Dallas. Below is the rehearsal schedule for this special performance. 


Rehearsal Schedule:

May 10th, May 17th, May 31st (2:00-3:30) 

June 7th, (2:00-3:30)

July 19th, July 26th.  (2:00-4:00)

August 2nd (Possible Send-off Concert), August 7th (in Dallas)

Performance on August 8th at 7:00pm


*Travel expenses and convention costs are the responsibility of each performer, however some financial assistance may be available. All flute choir members are registered members of the Austin Flute Society.
