The Austin Flute Choir has been invited to perform at the 2021 National Flute Association Convention in Washington DC

Saturday, March 13th - Austin Flute Society Annual Member’s Recital (via our website)

-AFS Members are encouraged to submit a recording of themselves playing a piece of choice to be posted on our website as part of a recital. The AFC will submit two pieces. 

Saturday, April 17th - Austin Flute Society Annual Flute Festival featuring flutist and composer,  Valerie Coleman.

-Open to all AFS members, this festival will include masterclasses, performances, and competitions for flutists of all ages and levels. The AFC will submit two additional pieces. 

Parts will be assigned and our practices will be done over a zoom session.

We will start rehearsing on Sunday, January 24th and will have 30 minute coaching sessions for each part, meaning that you will not be required to stay for the whole rehearsal.

Rehearsal times 

2:00-2:30 - 1st, 2nd Flutes and piccolo

2:30-3:00- 3rd and 4th Flutes

3:00-3:30- Altos, Basses, and Contra flute            

The Austin Flute Choir was established in 1991 as part of the Austin Flute Society. Its instrumentation includes piccolos, C-flutes, alto flutes, bass flutes, and a contrabass flute.

The choir performs repertoire ranging from classical, popular, jazz, and even folk music.

The AFC performs between four and six concerts each year around the Austin metro area. 

Parts and assignments will be assigned before rehearsals on Sunday, January 24th
