The Austin Flute Choir was established in 1991 as part of the Austin Flute Society. Its instrumentation includes piccolos, C-flutes, alto flutes, bass flutes, and a contrabass flute.

The choir performs repertoire ranging from classical, popular, jazz, and even folk music.

The AFC performs between four and six concerts each year around the Austin metro area.

The AYFC is open to all flutists Grades 9-12. Outstanding 8th grade students may also be considered, but membership is not guaranteed. All participants must have at least 2 years of prior experience playing the flute and must be taking private flute lessons on a regular basis.

Information about the 2022 Austin Youth Flute Choir will be available in December 2021.
