The Austin Flute Choir

The Austin Flute Choir was established in 1991 as part of the Austin Flute Society and is comprised of amateur and professional flutists from around the city. Its instrumentation includes piccolos, C-flutes, alto flutes, bass flutes, and a contrabass flute.

The flute choir performs repertoire ranging from classical, modern, popular, jazz, and folk music. The ensemble performs between four and six concerts each year around the Austin metro area.

Join the Choir!

If you have a passion for making music and keeping up with your flute playing, this is the place for you. Rehearsals take place on Sundays from 2:00-3:30pm throughout the year at St. John's United Methodist Church in north Austin. Interested flutists can email austinflutesociety@gmail.com to schedule an audition.

The AYFC is open to all flutists Grades 9-12. Outstanding 8th grade students may also be considered, but membership is not guaranteed. All participants must have at least 2 years of prior experience playing the flute and must be taking private flute lessons on a regular basis.

Information about the 2022 Austin Youth Flute Choir will be available in December 2021.
