Our theme for the December 6th, 2026 recital is 'The Deep Midwinter.' Winter is a season for rest, darkness, and waiting. In colder climates snow coats the ground and people gather for connection, reflection, hope and warmth. Here in Austin, we dream of snow and gather to connect as the days get shorter, while the bats, hummingbirds and monarchs migrate south for the season. Let’s connect over flute music - bring your sweet ballades, reflective adagios, expressive ensembles, and wintery melodies.
Flutists of all ages and ability levels welcome. Ensembles including instruments besides flute are welcome, as long as one flute is involved. If you have a chamber piece you would like to perform and are looking for people to play it with, there's a spot for that on the form :) We…
