About the Event
Taught in universities, conservatories, and private studios worldwide, the What Every Musician Needs to Know About the Body course helps prevent musicians’ injuries through increasing self-awareness, learning practical anatomy, and practicing efficient and coordinated movement.
What Every Musician Needs to Know About the Body is designed to set each participant on a path of self-evaluation and change, in order that they may become and remain free of injury and pain through a lifetime of performing.
In this session we will discuss general Body Mapping principles such as inclusive attention, and map the 6 Places of Balance.
DR. SPENCER HARTMAN currently serves as Lecturer of Flute
at Texas Tech University and Eastern New Mexico University
and performs regularly with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra
and the Lubbock Chamber Orchestra. Dr. Hartman is a
Licensed Body Mapping Educator through the Association for
Body Mapping Education. Spencer has earned degrees from
Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Memorial University of
Newfoundland, and Texas Tech University.
